Fresh strawberry pie recipe, you have tried "This One Yet?

The strawberries are in their full glory. I made jam, Strawberry Shortcake and ate strawberries and cream. How else can enjoy these beautiful berries before the season has gone? As I rummaged through my old recipes, I found this one for Fresh Strawberry Pie. This is an old favorite, simple and beautiful.

Select unblemished fruits ripe for this cake. Make the glaze first, so I have some time to cool down, as you prepare the cream cheese and strawberries. You want the coolGlaze enough, so do not cook the berries, but not, or chill Jello is set, and not paid. Fresh Strawberry Pie

1 baked 9-inch pie shell

1 tablespoon powdered sugar

3 oz cream cheese, soft

1 1 / 2 liters of strawberries, sliced

1 cup sugar

2 tablespoons light Karo syrup

1 cup water

3 tablespoonsStrawberry Jello mix

Salt

3 tablespoons cornstarch


Make the glaze for the berries from the combination of sugar, Karo syrup, salt and cornstarch and water. Stir and cook over medium heat until thick.
When thick, remove from heat and add Jello mix. Mix well and set aside to cool.
Beat the spread with cream cheese icing sugar and carefully on the bottom of baked pie shell.
Arrange the sliced strawberries over the cream cheese mixture.
Pour the cooled (butnot cold) glaze over strawberries.
This recipe can be made with other berries. Try blueberries, raspberries and blackberries. Select the appropriate flavor of Jello, of course. Serve the cake, each slice as it is, or garnish with a spoonful of whipped cream and a sprig of mint.
